300 Hour
Yoga Teacher Training
Created Around Community
THE TEACHER COMMUNITY GROUP
The basis of the 300 hour training is the Yoga Teacher's Community Group which meets once a month for one year. In this 3 hour session we practice together, offer peer feedback and encouragement, and discuss Yoga philosophy and how it applies to modern, daily life.
The full 300 hour program takes place over 2 years which includes two years of the community group (one year is based on the Yoga Sutras and the other on studying the Bhagavad Gita and Dharma), teaching, a mentorship, and 11 Modules.
Each of the modules, as well as the Community Group can be taken individually for CEUs or together to add up to the full 300.
Most of the modules are in-person and experientially focused. This supports you in learning to read your students' bodies, to respond to their needs, adjust your cues to offer modifications and props, and give clear and helpful adjustments in real time.
The 300 hour program is open to all who have graduated from a 200 hour training and is certified through Yoga Alliance

“I was fortunate enough to be a part of Christy’s first YTT. I can’t begin to express my joy and gratitude for her for allowing me the opportunity. Christy is an amazing human being; kind, patient and loving. She also has an incredible amount of knowledge which she shares without reservation. Christy makes learning fun and exciting. She welcomes questions and conversations in all areas of the training. She isn’t afraid to say that she doesn’t know an answer, but will also find the answer if she doesn’t know. Her love of people, yoga, and teachings are highlighted in her dedication to her students, her own education, and her practice. Christy does what she loves and it shows.” – CD
Welcome! If you've found yourself here, it is likely that similar to you, my love for Yoga has brought so many gifts into my life. Among them a home studio which I own with my sister, a purposeful path, and inspirational teachers. Some of the biggest honors and joys of my life are:
- Making connections with others through common threads and synchronicities
- Sharing the life-changing practices and wisdom that has been handed down to me from my teachers
- Offering opportunities for experienced instructors passionate about their area of study to pass on their joy, wisdom, and expertise
- Creating a safe space for like-minded teachers and students to connect, learn, unlearn, and grow together.
It brings me great joy to share this 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training Program which has been built on this very foundation and brings together instructors that I am honored to work alongside of and share with you!
I truly believe that when we are seen and supported in our authenticity, our individual gifts are nourished, and we can reach and better support our students and communities.
My greatest hope is that you will find yourself here.

Modules I lead:
- Anatomy 201
- Stories Behind the Asanas
- Bhagavad Gita Study
I have been teaching since 2003. I received my 200 teacher certification in 2004 and my Advanced 300 training in 2013, both with Raji at Yoga Synthesis. I also completed a 40 training in 2010 with Erich Schiffmann. In addition to at least 100 additional hours with Erich in workshops and retreats and who know how many hours with other teachers ;0).
I currently have a E RYT 500 YACEP designation with Yoga Alliance. Additionally, I am the author or the Yoga Anatomy Coloring Book and Pose by Pose: Learn the Anatomy and Enhance Your Practice. I also have a bachelor’s degree in Sociology.
I took my first yoga class when I was 16, right around the same time one of my high school teachers introduced me to the Tao Te Ching, one of the oldest texts of Eastern thought. Where I had to wait another 17 years till I attended another yoga class, my interest in eastern philosophy and thought continued. It was only after a few weeks I started to realize that yoga wasn’t just a physical pursuit, but had a spiritual and philosophical component as well.
I graduated from my first teacher training in 2004. After a couple of years of teaching part time I knew I had to figure out a way to make this full time and leave my regular job. In 2008 I graduated from massage school, quit my job, crossed my fingers and started on a new professional path. Now I can’t imagine doing anything else. It is with great joy that I am able to share the teachings of yoga and with immeasurable gratitude to all the students and teachers who have supported me that I have been able to continue on what I now see will be a lifetime of teaching and learning. I have since taken many trainings and workshops and although I am a yoga teacher I still consider that secondary to being a student of yoga.
I strive to make my classes, educational, and, maybe most of all, fun for both the beginner and the seasoned practitioner. I try to creatively blend different traditions of yoga styles of asana, pranayama, and meditation practice into an insightful, thoughtful and safe yoga experience. Hope to see you on the mat :0).

About Me“Christy has created an extremely comprehensive curriculum. Her passion and dedication for both teaching and practicing yoga comes through in both the written text and in the practical training. Not only has she created a nurturing space for growth and education, she empowers her students to fill that space with their own experiences and understandings. Aligned Flow places a strong emphasis on experiential learning. It’s through this focus that the daunting areas of anatomy & physiology, Sanskrit, and Asana profiles were able to be absorbed and truly learned by each of us. If you are seeking to understand yoga as a practice to share with yourself and others, it is with great enthusiasm that I recommend the Aligned Flow YTT program! I look forward to the continued contribution of Aligned Flow to the yoga community!”
